Tata BlueScope Steel forays into retail segment

Our Bureau

Pune, Aug. 19 Tata BlueScope Steel, a 50-50 joint venture between Tata Steel and BlueScope Steel, has entered the retail segment with Durashine range of colour-coated steel building products.

This is in addition to the range of building products and solutions that it offers in the SAARC region.

Talking to journalists, Mr Hakimuddin Ali, Vice-President, Building Products and Distribution, said it would offer customers aesthetic colour-coated roofing and walling profile options in several colours along with pre-punched high strength galvanised purlin and specially designed Guard Huts.

The company would be coming out with tile profiles within three months.

He said it would be utilising the distribution network of Tata Steel for its products. He said the products would be manufactured at three plants — Pune, Chennai and Bhiwadi.

The products were now being imported from Thailand, he added.
