Railways States - Tamil Nadu Award for diesel shed staff Tiruchi, Aug. 19 The Union Minister of State for Railways, Mr R. Velu, announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh to the employees of the diesel shed at Golden Rock here in recognition of the good work done by them to maintain the shed. Mr Velu inspected the diesel shed at Golden Rock here on Monday. The Minister saw the modern simulator being used for training the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots at the Diesel Shed Training Centre. He also visited the area where the maintenance of broad gauge a nd metre gauge diesel locomotives were being undertaken. Impressed with the maintenance, working and cleanliness of the diesel shed, the Minister announced the reward. Earlier, Mr Velu inspected the ongoing railway electrification work at Golden Rock railway station and expressed his satisfaction regarding the progress of the electrification work.
