Opinion - Letters
Impact of prejudices

The article “Visits to bring down walls” (Business Line, August 18) is interesting, timely and action-based. We have several types of misplaced prejudices based on cross-boarder terrorism. The people of Pakistan are very friendly, courteous and warm to visitors from India. People-to-people relationships are good, as experienced by me during my visit to Pakistan.

In fact, a Pakistani took me by car from Lahore to Islamabad when I missed the flight and had to attend a seminar. Unfortunately we have not adequately utilised the warmth for furthering the relationship.

The experience of Prof Indiresan, during his stay in Pakistan, would be endorsed by many visitors to Pakistan. Let us not pre-judge without sufficient data and information and form our hypotheses.
