Education States - Tamil Nadu ‘Gear up for challenges in tech-savvy banks’ Our Bureau Coimbatore, Aug. 20 The Associate Vice-President (Trade Finance and Corporate Management Service) of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mr H. Vidyasagar, called upon students of management to prepare themselves to face the challenges and rapid changes in the banking sector. Delivering the keynote address after inaugurating the Business Line Club and Management Association at the RVS Institute of Management Studies and Research at Sulur near Coimbatore, he said, “Opportunities are immense in the finance sector but one should be prepared to accept the change, be informed of the developments, and ready to face the challenges.” Stating that technology and tools granted banks “super power” status, he said the industry has embraced technology and moulded itself in this technology convergence. hiringWhile technology imbibement has happened in a big way, it (technology) also calls for people management, and not the other way round, he said, and informed students about the aggressive hiring (off campus) by new generation banks. These tech-savvy banks look for management graduates, Mr Vidyasagar told the aspirants, and asked them to prepare themselves to explore the opportunity in the financial sector. Mr D.
