SAP, Wipro launch ERP solution for mid-size firms

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Aug. 20 SAP and Wipro have jointly launched a ready-to-use ERP solution for mid-market Indian companies, the companies announced on Wednesday.

The solution package includes SAP Business All-in-One integrated with Wipro NetBlade, Modular Servers based on Intel Multi-Flex technology complete with implementation services and lifecycle support services together with operating system SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell, a press release said.

This offering is part of the SAP Business All-in-One fast-start programme, which was launched in India in February, and brings together a combination of ERP system, hardware and support services at an affordable price point.

Cost of ownership

The new offering is tailored to the specific needs of emerging Indian mid-size companies facing multiple challenges of stupendous growth, shortage of in-house IT talent, and budget restraints. It would deliver short time-to-deployment of end-to-end business processes at a low total cost of ownership (TCO) to mid-sized companies in the manufacturing, service and trade industries.

“The SAP Business All-in-One fast-start programme integrates all the critical business processes that fast-growing midsized companies require — from finance, operations, logistics, sales to manufacturing. By helping to lower the TCO for an on-premise business solution, the programme promises to provide overall IT investment protection to mid-market customers,” said Mr Deb Deep Sengupta, Vice-President (SME and Channels), SAP-Indian Subcontinent.
