Aurobindo's Losartan gets US nod

Hyderabad, Aug. 21

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has received the tentative approval to manufacture and market Losartan Potassium tablets from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA). The drug is used in the treatment of hypertension. Losartan Potassium tablets are the generic equivalent of Merck Research Laboratories' Cozaar tablets and falls in the antihypertensive segment. The branded sales of Losartan range of products was $1,235 million for the year ended December 2007, the company said. - Our Bureau
