Software AppLabs forays into testing consultancy services “The testing consultancy team has been strengthened and we have created a senior team in Scotland. The focus is on offering services in markets like Germany and France with operational base in the UK.” V. Rishi Kumar Hyderabad, Aug. 22 Software testing services provider AppLabs Technologies has forayed into testing consultancy services with a focus on helping validate products as a third party tester. The company hinted at expanding its operations inducting about 500 more people during the year to its existing headcount of about 2,000 people. more potential seenThe President and Chief Executive Officer of AppLabs, Mr Makrand Teje, told Business Line that most software products and enterprises require constant testing and validation of their services wherein AppLabs sees scope to make big inroads. “The testing consultancy team has been strengthened and we have created a senior team in Scotland. The focus is on offering services in markets like Germany and France with operational base in the UK,” he said. “The company has had a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 72 per cent and closed last fiscal with revenues of $80 million. We are expecting a growth rate of over 40 per cent this fiscal, which will take us past the $100-million mark in revenues during the year,” he said. New biz mixFrom a purely testing services provider for independent software vendors (ISVs), the company has changed its business mix. Now, it has 70 per cent of business from enterprises and 30 per cent from ISVs. “We have also begun to address the domestic market and now work with some of the largest industrial houses who want their technology assets tested for their robustness and reliability,” Mr Teje explained. Asked about IPO plans, he said “we may consider this over the next few quarters.” EUROPEAN TEAMMeanwhile, AppLabs in a statement announced it has named Mr Graham Smith as the Senior Vice-President for the company’s European business where AppLabs sees significant business upside. The company is in the process of addressing some of the markets in Europe with its operations based in the UK.
