New Products & Services Toto showroom opened in Chennai
Mr Kazuo Watanabe, President, Toto Asia Oceania Pte.Ltd, and Mr R. Ramesh, Director, True Value Homes, at the inauguration of first Toto lounge in Chennai. Our Bureau Chennai, Aug. 24 The Chennai-based TVH Consumer Products Private Ltd (TCPPL) launched its dedicated showroom ‘Personal Space’ to sell Japanese sanitary products, Toto. TCPPL is a distributor for Toto products in Tamil Nadu. Addressing the media after inaugurating the showroom, the President of Toto Asia Oceania Pte Ltd, Mr Kazuo Watanabe, said this was the 10th major showroom in the country and the company would open six more during the year. Besides large showrooms, there were about 50 smaller dealers and about 25 such outlets would come up this year, he said. The $5-billion Toto has manufacturing plants in about 20 countries and it would be looking at setting up a manufacturing facility in India. One of the parameters for the company to have its manufacturing presence is to cross the Rs 700-crore mark in turnover. In 2007-08, Toto India reported turnover of Rs 200 crore and the company has been growing at about 20 per cent CAGR for the last five years. At present the company imports from Japan and neighbouring countries depending on its clients’ project, he said. The size of organised sanitaryware market in India is around Rs 1,000 crore with more than 40 per cent dominated by the premium products.
