LifeSpring opens fifth hospital

Hyderabad, Aug. 24 LifeSpring Hospitals, a venture of Hindustan Latex Ltd, and the US-based non-profit Acumen Fund, has commissioned its fifth hospital here on Sunday and plans to set up a chain of about 30 low-cost model hospitals within two years.

The focus of this hospital chain is to serve women and children of the middle and lower middle class people by making medicare accessible in the neighbourhood and also affordable.

The Chief Executive Officer of LifeSpring Hospitals, Mr Anant Kumar, said they now plan to open hospitals in Maharashtra, Karnataka and some other tier II cities in Andhra Pradesh along with a few more in Hyderabad.

The LifeSpring initiative has a corpus of Rs 30 crore and pumps all its revenues into setting up new hospitals. Typically, each hospital has about 25 beds and the thrust is on high volumes and helping people access quality healthcare at lower rates.
