Chilli futures gain on buying

Mumbai, Aug. 25

Chilli futures in NCDEX gained by one per cent to Rs 5,429 a quintal on the back of fresh buying interest. After two week of continues fall, turmeric was up 0.84 per cent at Rs 3,695 a quintal on short covering.

Pepper lost 1.32 per cent to Rs 14,427 a quintal due to speculative activity even as there was no change in fundamentals. Guar seed fell 0.68 per cent to Rs 1,753 a quintal on profit taking after the recent rally. In MCX, cardamom futures dropped 1.45 per cent to Rs 691 a kg on profit taking.

Mentha oil dipped 1.28 per cent to Rs 648 a kg following the weak spot market sentiment on lower domestic and export demand. MCX recorded a turnover of Rs 4,575 crore, while it was Rs 1,775 crore in NCDEX. - Our Bureau
