Education States - Andhra Pradesh Indus School opens in Hyderabad Our Bureau Hyderabad, Aug. 25 Indus International School, promoted by the Indus Trust, has opened its third campus here, after Bangalore and Pune. “The school follows the curriculum of International Baccalaureate (IB), a Geneva-based organisation that prescribes syllabus for international schools across the world,” Lt Gen (retd) Arjun Ray, Chief Executive Officer of Indus Trust, said while addressing a press conference here on Monday.He added that founded on the ethos of In Omnia Paratus, prepared for all challenges, the school hopes to nurture the children through a well-defined curriculum and dedicated focus will also be laid on “learning beyond classroom”. The Hyderabad campus is spread over 26 acres in Mokila, close to the financial district, on the outskirts of the city. It currently has 100 students enrolled, out of which 42 are from outside Hyderabad. Mr Ray said that since it is an international school, admissions are open throughout the year, and by the end of the current academic year, they expect the strength to touch 140 students. The fees structure, he said, is between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh a year. More schools on cardsThe trust intends to set up similar schools in other metros across the country and Mr Ray said that the next school will be in Chennai from 2010 followed by one in Kolkata. “We also intend to set up low-cost international schools in tier-II cities which will be based on the Indian curriculum with some modifications from 2010. We are looking at places like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Hyderabad and Bangalore for setting up these schools,” he said.
