Hyderabad, Aug. 25

Dr Abhay Ram Bansal, scientist at the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), here has been selected for the Krishnan Gold Medal for 2008. His contributions in the field of earth sciences and related areas have been recognised by the Indian Geophysical Union (IGU), which gives the award. A gold medal and citation would be presented to Dr Bansal at the 45th annual convention of the IGU, scheduled to be held in Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi on November 5, accord ing to a press release from NGRI. –
