Dave to head SEBI mutual fund advisory committee

Mumbai, Aug. 25 The SEBI Mutual Fund Advisory Committee will be headed by Dr S.A. Dave, a former Chairman of the capital markets regulator.

SEBI released the list of members of the committee on Monday. This is a new committee established by SEBI, which already has advisory committees for the primary and secondary markets.

The members from the mutual fund industry include Mr A.P Kurian, Chairman, AMFI, Mr Milind Barve, Managing Director, HDFC Asset Management Company, Ms Ashu Suyash, CEO, Fidelity Fund Management Private Ltd, Mr V.P Chaturvedi, Managing Director, Tata Asset Management Ltd, Mr N.P. Ghanekar, Managing Director, JM Financial Asset Management Pvt Ltd, and Jaideep Bhattacharya, CMO, UTI Asset Management Co Ltd.

The other members are Mr Charanjot Singh Nanda who is a nominee of ICAI, Mr N.L Bhatia, President of Investor Education & Welfare Association, Mr A.P. Bakliwal, President of The Bombay Shareholders Association, and Mr G.S Sood, President of Society of Consumers and Investors Protection.

The committee also includes the editor of MoneyLIFE Magazine, Mr Debashis Basu, and Mr S.H Bhojani, Partner, Amarchand Mangaldas.

The members from SEBI are Mr G. Sethu who is the officer on special duty, in-charge of National Institute of Securities Markets and Ruchi Chojer, Deputy General Manager, SEBI.

SEBI had proposed an advisory committee for mutual funds to consider advice from investors and participants on issues concerning them.
