TCS quiz for schools

Pune, Aug. 25 Tata Consultancy Services has announced that the 2008 edition of TCS IT Wiz — a tech quiz for schools — will be held in Pune on Tuesday. The Wiz is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will be touring 12 cities, starting with Bangalore in August and ending in Ahmedabad in November.

During this period, the Wiz will also take place in Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow and Pune. This event is expected to have participation of more than 15,000 students across the country, besides reaching out to 2,00,000 students, according to an official release.

It noted that last year, there was participation of 1,000 students from Pune for the Wiz. The quiz would focus on world of Internet and unique Web sites, IT buzzwords and acronyms, IT Personalia, advertisements of IT and communication companies, software products, companies, brands, history of IT, etc.

The areas where information technology has made an impact such as education, entertainment, books, multimedia, Internet, banking, advertising and sports will also be covered during the quiz.

The written prelims will have 20 questions. The regional finals consist of the following 6 rounds.
