Advance tax collection branches

Mumbai, Aug 25

The Reserve bank of India has authorised 965 branches of public and private sector banks to accept advance income tax collections in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

These include 900 public sector banks’ branches, 36 HDFC Bank branches, 19 Axis Bank branches and 10 ICICI Bank branches, according to a press release issued by the RBI. The move is aimed at reducing long queues at the RBI counters, added the re lease. –
