Fertilisers States - Tamil Nadu IFFCO takes steps to supply fertilisers in TN Our Bureau Tiruchi, Aug. 27 Indian Farmers Fertilisers’ Co-operative Ltd (IFFCO) has taken special steps for the supply of DAP and urea to the farmers in Tamil Nadu. IFFCO had recently despatched 2,577 tonnes of DAP (20:25 variety) to Madurai. The consignment was received from Paradeep and had been distributed to Madurai, Theni, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram districts. Another consignment of 2,577 tonnes (20:20:013 variety), also sent from Paradeep, had reached Tirunelveli. It would be distributed to the farmers of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Kanyakumari and Virudhunagar districts, according to the Chief Area Manager, IFFCO, Tiruchi, Mr B. Krishnan. Steps have also been taken to supply 2,500 tonnes of DAP to the Cauvery delta farmers in Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Tiruchi districts and part of Pudukottai district. He said that a consignment of 32,371 tonnes of urea, despatched from Oman by the Oman India Fertiliser Corporation, would reach the port in Tuticorin by the first week of September. About 15,000 tonnes of this consignment would be distributed to the Cauvery delta farmers while the balance would go to other parts of the State, he said. The IFFCO, Tiruchi, is also gearing up for distributing its fertilisers for the ensuing ‘rabi’ season which commences in October. More Stories on : Fertilisers | Tamil Nadu
