‘No power tariff hike in AP for five more years’

Hyderabad, Aug. 27 The Andhra Pradesh Government has plans to add about 8,960 MW with an investment outlay of Rs 34,446 crore. The Chief Minister also assured that there will be no power tariff hike for five more years.

In addition, it is proposed to invest about Rs 10,000 crore in creating additional distribution network and strengthening the existing one, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, in a statement said though there were pressures from all sides, a hike in power tariff was categorically ruled out.
