Placid Rodriguez passes away

Chennai, Aug. 31 Dr Placid Rodriguez, the former director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam, passed away this morning. He was 68.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

An official press release said Dr Rodriguez served as the Director, IGCAR, between 1992 and 2000. He has been with the Department of Atomic Research since 1960, when he joined the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, where he served till 1974.
