Life Insurance States - Tamil Nadu LIC, S. Zone to be paperless office in 2 years Our Bureau Chennai, Sept. 1 Life Insurance Corporation (South Zone) would start the second phase of enterprise document management system and expects the entire zone to be a paperless office in the next two years. The south zone, comprisingTamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry, has 3.5 crore policies which is about one sixth of the entire policies handled by the Corporation. Addressing a press conference, Mr B. Manivannan, Zonal Manager, LIC, said that Chennai I, Chennai II, Madurai and Kottayam divisions would complete the first phase of enterprise document management system in the next two months. There are 12 divisions in the south zone; four zones will be taken in second phase and another four zones in the final phase. Enterprise document management system is a software system in which paper policy documents are scanned and stored in digital format to help LIC centralise policy holders’ information.
