Education fair on Australian varsities

Hyderabad, Sept. 2

IDP Education India Pvt Ltd on Tuesday organised an education fair for students from the city who intend to study in Australian institutes. It provided an opportunity for students who intend to join courses starting in February 2009. “During the fair, students get to interact with counsellors and take spot admission to the universities there,” Mr Inthiyaz Bannuru, Manager, IDP Education India Pvt Ltd, told reporters here. He added that 37 universities and insti tutes are taking part in this bi-annual event here against 30 last year. Mr Bannuru said that once students get an offer letter from the universities, IDP takes care of their visas and other procedures necessary. Around 1,300 students took part in the fair. “The popular masters courses that students opt for are IT, engineering and business programmes. On an average for every 100 students, 40-45 per cent opt for IT, and 20-25 per cent go in for engineering courses. While the rest take business and science programmes,” he said. The average cost of a masters’ programme is between A$7000 and $9000 a semester and the course duration is between one-and-half years and two years.
