Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Sept. 4 Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has entered into a licensing and distribution agreement with the US-based Cosmederm Technologies, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

With this, the Hyderabad-based company secured exclusive rights to distribute Cosmederm’s two skin care products – Refinity and Cosmederm peel kits – in Indian market.

This marked its foray into the aesthetic dermatology segment.

“Cosmederm’s proprietary technology is exceptional in its ability to allow the formulation of highly effective skin care products.

“We are very excited to offer these products throughout the Indian market and expect the lines to quickly become leaders in the area of chemical peels and anti-aging,” Mr Jaspal Singh Bajwa, President of Branded Formulations Group, Dr Reddy’s, said in a release.

According to industry estimates, the market for aesthetic dermatology segment is about Rs 100 crore with a growth rate of over 50 per cent.

Other brands of Dr Reddy’s in the dermatology segment are Mintop, Venusia, Niltan, Clearz and Antoxid-HC, the release added.
