Barry-Wehmiller bullish on India

Chennai, Sept. 5

Barry-Wehmiller International Resources, a $1.2-billion US-based information technology and engineering consulting solutions provider, expects revenue from India to increase to nearly $50 million by 2012 from the present $12 million. The increasing focus on consulting and engineering services out of India will drive the growth, according to its President and Managing Director, Mr Vasant Bennett. “India will be the key outsourcing hub for delivering IT automation, des ign and engineering solutions to maintain our market leadership position,” he told newspersons. The clients include Pepsi and Coca-Cola. It has expanded its Chennai operations by moving into a new facility in Velachery. The facility can accommodate around 500 people. It plans to have around 1,000 employees in the city by 2012 from the present 300, he said.
