Allahabad Bank expands in South

Kolkata, Sept. 8

Kolkata-headquartered Allahabad Bank plans to increase its presence in the South by opening more branches in the region. The bank has authorisation to open four branches in Karnataka, two in Kerala and 17 in Tamil Nadu at present. It has also applied for 12 more licences to the Reserve Bank of India, according to a press statement issued by the bank. The total business of the zone stands at Rs 3,943 crore, with deposits amounting to Rs 2,055 crore and advances to Rs 1,888 crore, the statement adds. - Our Bureau
