Hyderabad, Sept. 9

Union Bank of India will be offering wealth management services to its high net worth customers here.

The bank has 500 high net worth individuals (HNIs) in its customer-base in Hyderabad and the number is expected to grow, its Chairman and Managing Director, Mr M.V. Nair, told newspersons before the launch of services here on Tuesday. Union Bank had tied up with Chennai-based Wealth Advisors India Pvt Ltd for the purpose, and there would be no service charge for the customers. Those customers who have a balance of over Rs 10 lakh in their accounts are eligible for the services, Mr Nair said.

The bank, which launched the services in Bangalore last month, would be launching them in eight cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Chennai. “We have a modest target of 500 customers under the wealth management services in the first year,” he said.

Union Bank would be opening 56 new branches in the next 12 months, he added.

Mr V. Mahadevan, Chief Executive Officer, Wealth Advisors, said the customers would be provided investment solutions along with advisory services.
