National safety award

Hyderabad, Sept 9

Mr Mande Prabhakara Rao of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Ramachandrapuram, has won the `Runner up' national safety award for 2006 performance. Among all the units of BHEL, the RC Puram unit has won the individual category award. Mr Prabhhakara Rao, Deputy Engineer, working in Switch Gear division of BHEL, RC Puram Unit (for the last 30 years) has won the "Viswakarma Rashtriya Puraskar" in individual category with a cash award of Rs 75,000 and an appreciation certificate. The above two awards were announced by the Ministry of Labour & Employment and the Union Minister for Labour and Employment will give away the awards on September 17, in New Delhi. - Our Bureau
