Emami Biotech commissions Haldia plant

Kolkata, Sept. 9 Kolkata-based Emami group outfit, Emami Biotech, has commissioned its edible oil plant at Haldia. Mr Aditya V. Agarwal, Director of Emami Biotech, told Business Line that the plant has a capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day (tpd) palm oil, 600 tpd soya oil, and 200 tpd rice bran oil refining capacity.

Additionally, the plant would produce 300 tpd bio-diesel from palm oil.

“We have started producing 500 tpd palm oil; the full capacity would be reached by the year-end,” Mr Agarwal said.

He expected that by December the plant would be fully operational.
