Tele Atlas offers digital maps

Hyderabad, Sept. 9 Digital map and navigation services provider, Tele Atlas, have announced the availability of its digital maps for India.

This covers 5,463 sub-districts, 593 districts and 35 States and Union Territories along with detailed street level coverage for approximately 1,09,000 km in eight major cities that includes Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad-Secunderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

Tele Atlas’ new map offering of India covers the complete national highway network which includes expressways, national highways and state highways and encompasses approximately 1,62,000 km.

The initial product offering also includes more than 1,08,000 points of interest to help deliver an enriched user experience. Tele Atlas India maps are aligned with their global map offering and work with device manufacturers for usage such as personal navigation, automotive, Internet and wireless.

The Director of Operations, Tele Atlas APAC, Mr Arnout Desmet, in a statement said “our digital map offering for India leverages innovative map production technology and will help meet the rising market demand for navigation, map and location-based services and technologies.”
