AP Govt gives in-principle nod to regularise services of daily paid employees


The Finance Department has been asked to consider the demands of the Tribal Welfare Department and decide the cadre strength as per the present work load.

Hyderabad, Sept. 10 The State Government has decided to regularise the services of all the deserving employees of 3,225 daily paid employees, for those working as contract staff in the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Ashram schools, tribal hostels and Tribal Welfare Engineering Department.

The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who reviewed the issues of these employees on Wednesday, gave an in-principle approval to regularise the services of the deserving candidates immediately after deciding the cadre strength in each of these places.

A release form the Chief Minister’s Office said that the cadre-strength will be decided at a meeting between the Principal Secretaries of the Tribal Welfare and Finance Departments, then services of the deserving candidates will be immediately regularised on par with other State Government employees.

It was also decided that the remaining employees may also be given a salary hike on par with others.

There are 10 ITDAs in the State with 273 non-regular employees and 1,714 employees in the tribal welfare hostels, 1,174 employees in Ashram schools and 74 staff in the Tribal Welfare Engineering Department.

Dr Reddy also asked the Finance Department to sympathetically consider the demands of the Tribal Welfare Department and decide the cadre strength as per the present work load.

At a separate meeting Dr Reddy said that the genuine demands of the A.P. Rajaka Vruthidarula Sangham will be considered positively.

He said that the Government has already made arrangements to supply raw materials such as soap, surf, soda at concessional rates.

As regards the demand for construction of dhobi ghats in each village and town with bore, motor shed and so on, Dr Reddy asked the officials to work out a sustainable model and construct dhobi ghats on a need-based manner.
