General Insurance Apollo DKV mulls long-term travel product K.R.Srivats New Delhi, Sept. 10 Apollo DKV Insurance Company Ltd (Apollo DKV), a stand-alone health insurer, plans to come up with a long-term health insurance product for overseas travellers by the end of calendar 2008 or by January next, a top official of the company said here on Wednesday. “The product we are looking at will have validity of one full year, renewable every year. Being a new product, it would also require the regulator to examine it a little more closely ”, Mr C Chandra Shekhar, Chief Marketing Officer, Apollo DKV, told Business Line here. Currently, people going abroad get coverage of up to 180 days only, he pointed out. Apollo DKV also plans to take advantage of the network of “Euro Alarm”, a medical assistance company, for providing services abroad under the proposed new product.
