Opinion - Letters
Nuclear treaty

The Indo-US nuclear agreement is under investigation by the US congress. If it is passed, the Prime Minister will travel to the US to sign it.

As this agreement involves nearly 4 lakh crore rupees worth of business to the US, the stakeholders involved have taken all the necessary safeguards to protect their financial interests.

But, unfortunately, India’s 110 million people have been kept in dark about the details of the agreement. Parliament has not discussed it. And the Prime Minister, who is not even an elected MP, is going to sign it. Alas! It is almost as if our country has become a banana republic.
