Launching the new initiative, the Joint Managing Director, TVS & Sons, Mr R. Dinesh, said the module is a natural extension of service of the existing business and will bear the founder’s vision of innovation, quality, transparency and value to all stakeholders, offering reliable products at affordable price with dedicated manpower providing a unique purchasing experience. The aim is not to enter into the retail business but to handhold the retailers and improve the supply chain efficiency in the highly unorganised and fragmented spare parts market in the country. Currently, the wastage in supply chain with reference to commercial vehicles is around 22 per cent with significant cost in inventory. With best business practices, the initiative would be made the preferred choice among fleet operators and garage owners, he said. The module operated through integrated Web-based on-demand solution software for ‘on time’ availability of all products and monitoring system is a first time initiative in the country. Starting with two outlets in the city initially, the network will be expanded by the end of the fiscal to Coimbatore, Salem, Tirunelveli and Chennai.
