Alliances & Joint Ventures MapmyIndia ties up with Ford, GM Our Bureau Ahmedabad, Sept. 12 Digital maps provider MaymyIndia has tied up with Ford and General Motors to install in-car voice navigation to all its customers, said Mr Rohan Verma, Director, CE Info Systems (P) Ltd. The pocketable navigator guides a person sitting in the car or walking around to its destination through a digital map and voice directions. It doubles up as an in-car entertainer with 1 GB card to download movies, music, games and photos. It is available in around 174 cities of India at a price of Rs 17,990. The 3.5 inch colour touch screen is currently available through 500 outlets and in consumer electronic chains and car accessory outlets. The GPS (Global Positioning Device) navigation system is a real time satellite connected device with preloaded data of around 52 categories of interest points such as airports, ATMs and restaurants. “It is yet to be updated to locating residential addresses, but it will voice-guide you to any road or sub-road address in all these cities, towns and villages. Also, you can add locations to your favourites such as your home, and office, and store them,” said Mr Verma.
