Plaza Centre plans realty projects

Bangalore, Sept. 18

Plaza Centre, belonging to the Elbit Imaging Group, has committed about Rs 15,000 crore along with its local partners for real estate projects in India. The company, which has a significant presence in East Europe, has announced 10 projects across six cities in India. The company plans to start leasing its `shoppertainment projects' by first half of 2010, according to Mr Abraham Goren, Elbit Imaging Ltd's Executive Vice-Chairman (heading the activities of Elbit Imaging and Plaza Centres in India). Plaza has signed a joint venture agreement with its parent company, Elbit Imaging Ltd, to develop major mixed use projects in India in conjunction with local Indian partners. The joint venture's first three projects are located in Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and Kochi (ranging between 600,000 sq ft and two million sq ft). - Our Bureau
