Hyderabad, Sept. 18

The Apollo Hospitals group will open its first Apollo Reach Hospital at Karimnagar. The 150-bed hospital, which would complement the locally available medical facilities, would be opened by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Thursday. “We are going to open a chain of 25 such hospitals in the next 18 months,” Dr Hariprasad, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Health City (Hyderabad), said here in a press release. The facility would h ave modern operation theatres, intensive care units and MRI (magnetic resonance image) facility, he said. “The idea is to bridge the existing rural-urban gap in access to quality healthcare and reach tertiary healthcare to the hitherto un-treaded semi-urban and rural areas,” he said. The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, formally launched the concept of Apollo Reach Hospitals in Chennai on September 5. —
