Rubber Spot rubber rules steady Aravindan Kottayam, Sept. 19 Spot rubber finished almost steady on Friday. Though sellers stayed back listening to the positive reports from the Japanese markets, the domestic prices failed to react lacking follow-up support from the consuming sector. Sheet rubber RSS 4 was static at Rs. 135.50 as on Thursday. The transactions were dull. The tyre sector kept their quotes unchanged at Rs 135 a kg for sheet rubber. Sept futures flare upBulls dominated the afternoon session in the global market pushing TOCOM’s September contract, which is set to expire on Wednesday, by a whopping ¥18.2 a kg. RSS 3 bounced back with September contract rising to ¥349 (Rs149.12) against ¥330.8, while October futures improved sharply to ¥327.8 (318.4), November to ¥315.9 (309.5), December to ¥301.4 (295.4 ), January to ¥294.4 (287.7) and February to ¥291.9 (286.3) a kg at TOCOM. The grade (spot) slipped further to Rs 132.96 (133.97) a kg at Bangkok. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 135.50 (135.50); RSS-5: 133 (133); ungraded: 129 (129); ISNR 20: 125.50 (126.50) and latex 60 per cent: 78 (78). More Stories on : Rubber
