Clarification

With reference to the news story "Quality fears grip tea sector as exports rise" that appeared in these columns on September 19, the quotes attributed to Mr N. Sriram, Chief Executive Officer of Contemporary Tea Brokers Ltd, in the context of unearthing of adulteration of tea by some firms, should read as: “The best thing that the Tea Board can do is to take necessary steps for tea exports to Pakistan to undergo pre-shipment inspection” and not as reported. Als o, Egypt had dropped out of Indian market due to COMESA and not on quality issue.
