Flow cytometry centre set up

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Sept. 19

Medical devices major Becton Dickinson India and National Centre for Biological Science on Friday launched their joint centre of excellence in flow cytometry at the NCBS campus in Bangalore.

The centre will develop and organise workshops, seminars and training programs on flow cytometric applications for basic and clinical researchers, a BD release said.

Flow cytometry is an important tool in cellular analysis, in monitoring diseases in research and clinical settings, and to accurately identify stem cells.

“Understanding technological advances in flow cytometry and their application in answering research questions is relatively limited in our country,” said Mr Ram Sharma, Managing Director, BD in India.
