Madurai, Sept. 19 Sri Vishnu Shankar Mill Ltd (Rajapalayam), a unit of Ramco Textile Division, situated near here, has secured the National Safety Award for the year 2006.

Mr K.H. Muniyappa, Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, presented the award in a function held at New Delhi on September 17.

The award is given in recognition of outstanding safety performance of industrial establishments in accident prevention programmes.

He gave away 154 awards in various categories and Vishwakarma Rastriya Puraskar Awards to 28 workers on the occasion.
