Mumbai, Sept 23 Hettich India, part of German furniture fittings major Hettich International, plans to set up 100 company certified kitchen studios to showcase its products across the country.

With six production units in Germany, the group’s turnover in 2007 was $1.1 billion. The company also has manufacturing facilities in the US, Spain, Czech Republic, Russia, Brazil and China.

The outlets, in association with local partners, will exhibit the latest products being offered in the developed countries. Hettich will provide the hardware and fittings and the particle boards will be the choice of the customer, which the business partner will cater to. Two of the company certified outlets are operating in Maharashtra and more are to follow. The business partners would benefit from support in design and installation, besides keeping ahead through product innovation.

The focus is on modular kitchen as 40 per cent of the market, estimated at around Rs 20,000 crore, comes from it. Hettich range could vary from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 25 lakh depending on customer preference as customised solutions are also addressed. “Our strength lies in having high quality products at every price point,” said Mr A.K. Goel, Managing Director, Hettich India.

Hettich has entered into a joint venture with S.K. Poddar Group to set up a manufacturing facility in India to service local and international markets.
