Dr Reddy’s enters inhaler segment

Hyderabad, Sept. 25 Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd has forayed into the inhaler segment by launching Combihale, a steroid and a long-acting broncho-dilator used in the treatment of asthma.

Available in two combinations — Combihale FF and Combihale FB — it comes in the forms of metered dose inhaler (MDI) and dry powder inhaler (DPI) with 120 doses, and as 30 blister capsule packs respectively.

A dry powder inhalation device (Redihaler) designed in-house by the Hyderabad-based company is also provided free of cost along with the broncho-dilator.

According to ORG IMS data, the inhaler market is currently valued at Rs 473 crore and is growing at over 17 per cent annually.
