Asiana Hotel bags culinary award

Chennai, Sept. 26 Asiana Hotel won the overall ‘Best Hotel’ trophy at the Culinary Challenge and Exhibition 2008 held here recently by the Indian Federation of Culinary Association (IFCA), while GRT Grand was the runner-up.

Best Participating Hotel award went to Radisson GRT and the Best Participating Team award went to Rain Tree.

The IFCA event, which was also supported by the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation and the Tamil Nadu Trade Promotion Organisation, showcased culinary creations by individuals and teams from leading hotels and restaurants, across India. The first such event in the country by the association, was judged by an international jury from the World Associations of Chefs Societies.

Speaking on the occasion, Chef Soundarajan, General Secretary, IFCA, said, “Nurtured well, this event will grow to become the most sought after event in South East Asia.”

At the award ceremony held here Fr Jegath Gaspar Raj, Founder Tamil Mayam, and Mr M. Mahadeven, Managing Director, Oriental Cuisine, gave away the trophies.
