Petroleum Crude output dips by 1% in August Our Bureau New Delhi, Sept. 26 The indigenous crude oil output was down one per cent in August to 2.846 million tonnes from the corresponding month last year. The production was 6.7 per cent below the Government set target for the month, as commercial production of oil had not started from a field (KG-DWN-98/3) in Krishna-Godavari basin. According to a Government data, natural gas production in the month under review stood at 2.806 billion cubic meters; 4.3 per cent higher than the corresponding month last year. The 19 domestic refiners (17 public sector and two private sector refiners) processed 2.5 per cent more crude oil in August against the same month last year. The refineries on average ran at 106 per cent of their capacity in August. The refiners processed 13.416 million tonne of crude during the month under review up from 13.095 million tonne in the corresponding month last year. Private sector Reliance Industries Ltd’s Jamnagar refinery processed 5.7 per cent less in August, according to the data. Essar Oil’s Vadinar refinery processed 336.9 per cent more at 1.101 million tonne (0.252 million tonne). Capacity utilisation at Indian Oil Corporation’s seven refineries during August was slightly lower at 99.3 per cent as some units were shut for regular maintenance. More Stories on : Petroleum
