Balmer Lawrie dividend at 170%

Kolkata, Sept. 26

The shareholders of Balmer Lawrie & Co approved a dividend of 170 per cent for 2007-08 at the annual general meeting held on Friday. This is the highest ever dividend declared by the company. Balmer Lawrie has recorded its highest ever turnover with net income crossing Rs 1,490 crore during the last fiscal, up by 15 per cent from Rs 1,300 crore in 2006-07. The profit before taxation increased by 23 per cent from Rs 106 crore to Rs 130 crore. Net profit rose from Rs 70.22 crore to Rs 86.93 crore. - Our Bureau
