The Hindu Business Line : SIB Excellence Award

Five globally acclaimed personalities have been selected for the SIB Excellence Award for lifetime achievement. The award goes to these outstanding personalities for transforming and impacting the lives of millions of Indians and helping India emerge stronger in various fields. The winners are Dr Varghese Kurien, Mr Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Mr K.J. Yesudas, Mr Yusuff Ali M.A. and Dr K.M. Cherian. Dr V.A. Joseph, Chairman & CEO of South Indian Bank, announced the winners. The award is also in recognition of the excellence shown by them in their respective professions. The award winners would be presented a citation, a memento and a cash award of Rs 1 lakh each. The award ceremony would be held as part of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the bank, a press release issued here said. - Our Bureau
