Ernst & Young combines operations with two Mumbai cos

New Delhi, Sept. 29 Strengthening its presence in the tax domain, Ernst & Young, a professional services firm, has decided to combine its operations with two Mumbai-based accountancy and tax firms – P.D.Desai & Company and S.V.Ghatalia & Associates.

Sources said Mr Pinakin Desai, currently senior partner at P.D.Desai & Company, will be joining Ernst & Young as a partner, along with Ms Geeta Jani, another senior tax professional.

Meanwhile, Mr Kirit Kamdar, currently managing partner of S.V.Ghatalia & Associates, is joining Ernst & Young as a partner.

Other professionals from both these firms will also be joining Ernst & Young in different capacities in the firm. When contacted, Mr Rajiv Memani, Country Managing Partner, Ernst & Young, confirmed the developments.

“I am delighted that Ernst & Young continues to attract such brilliant professionals and am confident that this will enable us to offer tremendous value to our clients,” Mr Memani said.

Recently, Mr Sudhir Kapadia, formerly national head of tax in KPMG, also joined Ernst & Young as the tax leader in Ernst & Young’s Technology, Communications & Entertainment business unit.
