Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct. 1 BMR Advisors, a tax advisory firm, is expanding its presence in the South by taking over a Chennai-based tax advisory firm, K Ravi &Co.

With this, BMR has a presence in the fourth largest metropolitan city.

BMR Advisors is already present in South India with an office at Bangalore.

K Ravi & Co was set up in 1980 and has capabilities in the area of direct and indirect tax work.

Under an arrangement, K Ravi & Co will combine its existing practice in Chennai with BMR, helping the latter build its practice at a national level.

“The opening of our new office is an integral part of our growth strategy to expand geographically within and outside India.

Diversified base

“Chennai as a location has a diversified economic base anchored by automobiles, IT, ITeS, energy, financial services and real estate. The new location demonstrates our commitment to closely serve our clients,” said Mr Bobby Parikh, Managing Partner, BMR Advisors.

BMR Advisors currently has offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, besides New York, London, and San Francisco.

It opened an office in Bahrain earlier this year.

It has 26 partners and over 375 people.
