Standards & Benchmarks Patni’s Noida centre gets LEED Platinum rating Our Bureau Coimbatore, Oct. 1 Patni Computer Systems knowledge centre in Noida has beenawarded the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum rating. Set up on an investment of Rs 175 crore, this centre is spread over 5 acres of land and seats over 3,500 people. A release from Patni said the building was jointly audited by the Indian Green Building Council and US Green Building Council and publicly reviewed by over 10,000 membership organisations that constitute USGBC. The rating recognises the company’s commitment to quality standards and efficient utilisation and conservation of energy, water and natural resources. Patni offers a variety of outsourcing facilities and this centre is expected to support the company as it diversifies into other areas of operation. It is expected to give Patni employees a healthier and environmentally-friendly workplace, increasing productivity levels. Studies from institutes such as like IGBC have shown that there is almost a 15 per cent increase in employee productivity by using such green initiatives. The Chairman and CEO of Patni, Mr Narendra K. Patni, while hailing the initiative said it reiterated the company’s commitment to energy conservation and reducing adverse environmental impact.
