Kerala milk prices go up

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 2 The prices of various types of milk processed and distributed by the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (Milma) will go up by Re. 1 a litre from October 3.

Milma said in a statement that ‘toned’ and ‘double toned’ varieties of milk would be priced at Rs 20 a litre. The price of Milma ‘rich’ milk will be Rs 23 a litre, while that of ‘Jersey’ milk will be Rs 22 a litre.

For Milma curd, the revised price will be Rs 12.50 for each packet of 500 ml, said the statement. It said that the packets in which the milk and curd would be supplied might carry the old price labels for a few more days till new packets were made available to the packing centres.
