Good Earth to open store in Singapore

Anjali Prayag

Bangalore, Oct. 6 Luxury retail chain Good Earth from the $600-million Eicher Group will launch its flagship store in Singapore in November.

The eco-friendly lifestyle brand, which already has a presence in Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi, is opening its eighth store in Bangalore next week, and plans to open a destination store in Goa in 2009. The company is also planning stores in “other international cities soon”, said Ms Anita Lal, Creative Head and Founder, The Good Earth Company.

With a mix of mall and high street presence, Good Earth’s stores across the country are in the range of 3,000 sq ft to 26,000 sq ft.

Good Earth’s products described as ‘celebrating India’s culture and heritage in a modern way,’ range from natural incenses, silverware, furniture, bed linen and tableware. Most of its products are designed in-house and produced exclusively in India and abroad to specifications.

The company also sources speciality products such as high-end glassware and crystal, authentic bath and body brands and lighting and furniture from around the world. “The brand strives to promote the concept of ‘ethical luxury’ by stocking a careful selection of environmentally friendly, quality merchandise,” says Ms Lal.

“We believe that this philosophy enables its customers to experience luxury in good conscience.”
