Hyderabad airport cargo growth

Hyderabad, Oct. 6 Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has registered international cargo handling of 18,000 tonnes during the six-month period (April-September 2008) as against 11,000 tonnes in the corresponding period at the Begumpet airport. “We have registered a 50 per cent growth during the period,” Mr A Vishwanath, Chief Commercial Officer of RJIA, said here in a press release. In September 2008, the new airport handled international cargo to the tune of 3,570 tonnes as against 1,986 tonnes in the corresponding period last year at the Begumpet airport, showing a growth of 80 per cent.
